29 Poush 2075: The examination center for the Quantum Mechanics subject of the first semester of the Master’s program in Physics at Tribhuvan University was Mahendratna Campus, Tahachal. After the question papers arrived from outside the curriculum, the student made a fuss. The center chief took back the question papers that had been distributed and informed Tribhuvan.
Tej Bahadur Bisi, the Head of the Examination Branch, and Associate Dean Pramod Narayan Prasad Adhikari of the Institute of Science and Technology came forward to instruct not to conduct the exam. Ramesh Bhandari, a student at Patan Multiple Campus, says, “They conducted the exam again after an hour and a half with the same question paper. Even if you study, you can’t write well when the questions come from outside the curriculum.”
He received a ‘B’ grade in that subject. Along with Bhandari, Chintaharan Sah, who appeared for the exam from St. Xavier’s College, also received a ‘B plus’ grade. He says, “I was afraid that I might fail if the questions came from outside the curriculum. Luckily, I passed.”
The exam was not held for 20 students who did not take the exam. Niraj Singh, who did not take the exam, says, “Cancelling the exam due to the leak of question paper raises doubts about the authenticity of the exam. After returning the question paper at around 12:30 PM, when we took the exam again from the same question paper after an hour and a half, its validity is questionable.”
In response to the alert sent to the Examination Branch by the examination center, students mention that the question paper distributed was re-distributed and the examination was conducted again under their control.
